About the Conference

As a new initiative within the context of its pioneering humanitarian stances,In this context, Kuwait’s Council of Ministers has entrusted the International Islamic Charitable Organization () with organizing “The Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to Support the Humanitarian Situation in Iraq” on 12 February 2018. The conference coincides with “The International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq” to mobilize the efforts of local, regional and international non-governmental organizations to support the humanitarian situation in the Iraqi areas affected by armed conflict.

Vision

IICO is looking forward to “The Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to Support the Humanitarian Situation in Iraq” to act as a humanitarian platform that will bring together and mobilize the efforts of local, regional and international humanitarian organizations, review the humanitarian situation in Iraq and announce their pledges and contributions to support the humanitarian situation in the affected Iraqi areas.

Goals

  1. Assess the humanitarian situation and basic needs in the affected areas of Iraq.
  2. Activate the efforts of local, regional and international humanitarian organizations to direct their programs and projects to support the humanitarian situation, help those affected, and build their capacity.
  3. Strengthen the humanitarian partnership between local, regional and international organizations in the face of the humanitarian challenges in Iraq.
