As part of its ongoing efforts to support the neediest groups around the world, the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) launched the “Warm Hearts” Campaign to confront the harsh winter cold. As it provided winter aid to more than 17,000 beneficiaries from poor, displaced and refugee families in 10 countries around the world, in cooperation with 15 charitable organizations in the beneficiary countries.
Furthermore, the “Warm Hearts” campaign aimed to provide the necessary support to vulnerable and needy groups in light of the harsh economic conditions in which they live, especially in the winter season, which witnesses a sharp drop in temperatures, by helping vulnerable groups face the harsh winter cold. As well as alleviating the suffering of needy families in light of economic crises and conflicts, and providing basic life necessities such as food, warm clothes, and materials that help heating.
The campaign provided the beneficiaries with winter clothing and blankets to protect them from the extreme cold, heating materials to help them face the cold of the winter, and food supplies to meet the needs of families in the difficult circumstances they are going through.
More than 17,000 beneficiaries from vulnerable groups in 10 countries around the world benefited from the campaign’s programs including: Palestine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, and Kuwait.
To effectively achieve the campaign’s goals, the IICO cooperated with its external offices and 11 voluntary teams working under its umbrella to implement winter projects inside and outside Kuwait. These voluntary teams played a prominent role in providing field support and organizing the distribution of aid to beneficiaries. The list of voluntary teams included: Kuwait Charity Teams, Basmat Khair, Banat Al-Deera, Ataa Kuwait, Inner Peace, Sanaa Al-Khair, Enas, Marayem Al-Khair, Kuwait Charity Group, Aishan Nasa’adhom, and Manakeb.
It is noteworthy that these voluntary teams play a vital role in supporting charitable and humanitarian efforts and promoting the message of social solidarity, by contributing to fundraising and implementing projects in the field.
In addition, the campaign achieved tangible results on the ground, as this aid alleviated the suffering of the beneficiary families and helped them endure the harshness of the winter and the difficult economic and social conditions.
With this campaign, the IICO confirms its continued keenness to provide humanitarian assistance to poor and displaced families in various parts of the world, as it has demonstrated its deep commitment to humanitarian and relief responsibility, by targeting the most vulnerable groups in areas affected by crises and natural disasters. As well as its interest in providing basic needs that help them face the repercussions of the harsh winter and the resulting health risks.
For its part, the IICO extended its deep thanks and appreciation to all the honorable donors - individuals, companies and supporting bodies - stressing that their generosity had a great impact in supporting the project, reaching thousands of beneficiaries, and alleviating the suffering of families in need at a time when they are facing very difficult circumstances.
The Winter Campaign remains one of the leading humanitarian projects implemented annually by the IICO, given its noble humanitarian goals that focus on providing assistance to those most in need.
