The idea of this Waqf depends on the holding of the Waqf funds as an asset in which the share starts at KD 300 or its multiples, and the asset is invested while IICO spends its proceeds on the purposes of this Waqf.
Waqf is the real charitable investment that you pay in this world to support you in the Hereafter. Islam has urged the Waqf. Some scholars have mentioned that all the Companions of the Prophet had Awqaf.
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "It is far better for you to take your rope, go to the mountain, (cut some firewood) carry it on your back, and sell it and thereby save your face than begging from people whether they give you or refuse."
This Waqf spends its revenues on those. We support small and micro enterprises, through interest-free loan, aiming to eliminate unemployment, and transform the person from being dependent on society, to an active member, so that he can support himself and his family, and contribute to promote the society in which he lives.
