The idea of this Waqf depends on the holding of the Waqf funds as an asset in which the share starts at KD 300 or its multiples, and the asset is invested while IICO spends its proceeds on the purposes of this Waqf.
Waqf is the real charitable investment that you pay in this world to support you in the Hereafter. Islam has urged the Waqf. Some scholars have mentioned that all the Companions of the Prophet had Awqaf.
There are millions of children who have been deprived of the opportunity to learn and have become impoverished on themselves and their families, and therefore on their homelands. Millions more are vulnerable to be lost unless we take their hands, help them and provide them with the means of education.
Therefore, IICO undertook this project, in order to provide educational opportunities for the largest number of students, as well as to raise the rewards of those who help in providing educational opportunities for them.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."
Our good ancestors made the Awqaf to build different places of teaching, such as mosques, schools, places of teaching the Holy Quran, and teaching the Hadith, to preserve religion and care for science and its people, students, teachers, preachers and others.
