Reviving the ritual of sacrifice slaughtering in collaboration with (75) charitable active organizations, in (49) countries, approved by Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Sacrifice meat alleviates malnutrition in some poor communities as well as fostering the sense of fraternity and solidarity.
Slaughtering, packaging and freezing sacrifices abroad and supplying them to support the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Palestine, India and Bangladesh.
IICO has implemented the sacrifices project for this year in (49) countries, the number of sacrifices reached (14,152) at a cost of KD (470,386), while the number of beneficiaries amounted (566,080) in collaboration with (75) charitable associations approved by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This year's project entitled “known days” has witnessed remarkable progress compared to the last year, where the project was implemented at (28) countries. The sacrifices number were (12,810) valued at KD (390,089) and the number of beneficiaries reached (512,400) in coordination with (45) local bodies operating within the beneficiary countries.
For this year, IICO has launched the sacrifices campaign entitled “known days”, which could access large segments of the distressed and the neediest people involving other projects, including campaign of orphan relief, feast day gifts represented in food baskets.
The sacrifice project aimed to bring happiness to hearts of poor and needy families, as well as putting a smile on the faces of orphans, widows, patients and other vulnerable segments to alleviate the calamities and the consequences of asylum, displacement and poverty. In addition to reviving the spirit of social solidarity among Muslims, and to strengthen bonds and links of affection among sons of Kuwait and Muslims all over the world, besides alleviating the impact of Malnutrition suffered by some poor communities.
IICO also targeted reviving the sacrifices ritual in (49) countries in collaboration with (75) charitable organizations approved by Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including (10) countries that host offices of IICO (Jordan, Niger, Sudan, Benin, Kazakhstan, Uganda, Pakistan, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, and Uzbekistan). Also, the project was in (8) countries suffering from repercussions of civil conflicts and wars (Palestine, Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Burma), and (16) countries with extremely poor Muslims (Mauritania, Djibouti, Cameroon, Senegal, Tanzania, Ghana, Mali, Ethiopia, Nepal, India, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Bosnia, and Togo and Burundi). In addition to (10) countries with high Muslim density (Indonesia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Albania, Tunisia, Morocco, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Iran) and (7) countries that include Muslim minorities and communities (Thailand, China, Philippines, Montenegro, Macedonia, Sri Lanka and Lebanon).
These countries suffer from serious humanitarian conditions, either because of wars, civil conflicts and disasters, or due to various humanitarian challenges such as poverty, drought and others.
IICO is primarily keen on slaughtering, packaging and freezing the sacrifices abroad and supplying them to India, Bangladesh and various areas of Palestine, taking into account the humanitarian situation in those countries. As well as considering the suffering of the poor and meeting their requirements in terms of meat, in addition to expanding the beneficiary base so that meat is available throughout the year, and hospitals are provided with large quantities of meat to feed patients throughout the year as well.
According to the reports and video clips received by IICO from the executing authorities that showed that the sacrifices project had a great positive impact on hearts of the beneficiaries, as it spread happiness and joy among them, thereby their tongues prayed for the people of Kuwait who have been implementing this project annually.
